With Calaméo, users can create fully interactive and highly engaging online publications from almost any existing document. Calaméo provides automated conversion of the document into a “flip-book”-style publication, viewable in any web browser – no plug-ins required. All Calaméo publications are embeddable in Websites and Blogs, and provide full-text search as well as high-quality scaling for a true full-screen viewing experience.
Calaméo publications can be enhanced with additional multimedia content such as audio, video and flash animations. With today’s update, Calaméo is the first online document sharing service in the market to provide fast and easy embedding of YouTube videos in online publications. The new feature is accessible through Calaméo’s “Link Editor”, the tool used for adding interactive elements to publications.
We’ve been after the global market for online document sharing since our inception and that means giving our users Calaméo in their native languages”, said Jean-Olivier de Bérard, CEO and co-founder of Calaméo. “Today’s new release opens our platform to key markets like Germany, Japan and Italy, as well as Portugal and Brazil. Also, we’re proud to be the first on the market to bring fast and easy embedding of YouTube videos into online document sharing. I’m sure this will spark the creativity of many artists and interactive designers who can now breathe even more life into their publications.
Calaméo is free of charge and has gained a following of more than 50,000 registered users worldwide since it’s launch in April 2008. Professional users can upgrade to Calaméo’s PREMIUM or PLATINUM services that provide design customisation, white-labelling and access to the Calaméo API for full access control and subscription management with strong digital rights management.
